Episode 1 - Welcome to the Stellar Soulcast

Sophie & Heather (00:08)
namma namma namma namma namma namma namma namma namma namma namma nammastay!

Heather (00:10)
And I'm Heather and you're tuning into the first episode of the Stellar Soulcast.

Sophie (00:23)
And if you love astrology, are fascinated by history, or on a journey of self-discovery,

Heather (00:30)
or maybe you're just a little cosmic curious, you're in the right place.

Sophie (00:34)
In this very first episode, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at who we are, how astrology has shaped our journeys, and what inspired us to create this space.

Heather (00:44)
So sit back, grab your star maps and let's get cosmic because

Sophie & Heather (00:49)
this is where we decode the cosmos one episode at a time..

Sophie (00:56)
Welcome again to our very first episode. We are. Yeah, we are eager to kick it off by first talking a little bit about what our mission statement here at the stellar socast is, as this is a space where we believe astrology is more than just horoscopes. It's a tool for self discovery, empowerment and everyday guidance.

Heather (01:23)
Absolutely, and our mission is to bridge the mystical and the practical while offering insightful and encouraging conversations that help our listeners or you understand your birth charts, navigate the cosmic influences, and align with the rhythms of the universe. So from some deep dives into planetary placements to astrology's role in pop culture, love, and even business, we make the stars accessible and fun.

Sophie (01:52)
And we strive to make astrology enjoyable, digestible, meaningful, and empowering through guest speakers, relatable discussions, and a little celestial sass. Heather and I are here to help you decode the cosmos because the universe is always speaking. Are you listening?

Heather (02:14)
Are you? But yes, the universe is just full of mysteries. And that is, you know, that's something that I find so enjoyable about life. But as we move forward in our first episode, we just want to briefly mention how this podcast was brought to life. Well, this goes back, I would say about a year and a half ago, Sophie, Sophie and I, her fiance, my husband, we're all just hanging out. We were chilling and we're in my apartment.

And I don't know, we just got this sudden urge to just go and use my podcast equipment. And the reason why I even had equipment is a few years ago, my husband wanted to start a podcast, and then even me and my sister dabbled with the idea before, but nothing actually kind of moved forward. But for some reason, it was set up in my back room. I don't know, like.

Like Jack is probably one of his inspirations to do a podcast. Yes. But anyway, we then recorded an episode and we just spoke about life. We spoke about being in interracial relationships and what that meant to us and our experiences. And we just had so much fun doing it. And that kind of like led to us talking about, yo, let's do a podcast. What do we do it on? How are we going to go forward with it?

And we just kind of had no momentum with it. Time went on. We mentioned it here and there. Nothing. But then earlier this year, we brought it up again and was like, no, no, no. You know what? Let's do it. We were both on the same page. So we just got together earlier, like maybe February. Yeah.

Sophie (04:00)
It

was kind of decided that this was something that we wanted to do.

Heather (04:04)
Yeah, and it was actually really funny because we didn't want to do it on astrology. Well, not that we didn't want to do it on astrology. It just wasn't.

Sophie (04:11)
That wasn't our original idea of what we wanted to center a podcast around. But then I think it goes along with the timing aspect as, you know, certain transits or should we say certain things that were happening that was that were happening astrologically kind of influenced our decision to move forward with it. Because I think when we were looking back on say things like our relationships,

Like life patterns and just stuff that were coming up in our personal lives. We realized that a lot of them ⁓ Kind of correlated with things that were happening in the stars and we were like wow what wonderful way to Understand this more and also create something that could help others Yeah, then doing it ⁓ doing a podcast entered around astrology and learning. Yeah

Heather (05:04)
was really cool

too, because I was like, wait, it's all just coming back to here, so let's do it. Let's do it. And that was a lot of fun though, because our original thing was just talking about life. Yeah, it's like we even had a whole other name. What was it? It was so cute. So adorable. Yes. It's funny though, like how

Sophie (05:15)
Yes.

counterday chat.

adorable but life had other plans

Heather (05:34)
how that happens, you know what I mean? Like it's just kind of the universe wanted us to go this way. So here we are.

Sophie (05:41)
⁓ So now that you guys have a little bit of insight on the origins of our soul cast we want to introduce ourselves and Provide an opportunity for you guys to know us better Alright, so I'll start it off. I'm Sophie ⁓ Wow, what can what can I say?

Heather (06:04)
So.

Sophie (06:06)
So for me I got into astrology when I was in college I had a roommate that was really into listening to collective tarot readings and the astrologer Excuse me. I should say the reader tied astrology into her readings for the collectives ⁓ highlighting different transits and highlighting different ⁓ correlations between

⁓ the cards that she was using and different like ⁓ astrological patterns and the signs and things and it piqued my interest. then ⁓ going forward, I just kind of took it upon myself to learn little things here and there about astrology so I can learn more about myself. And I'm.

someone who advocates for lifelong learning. That's why I'm in the work that I do as a certified therapeutic recreation specialist. I'm always helping people improve their well-being through the different domains and things like that. So, you know, it even ties into certain things that certain ⁓ placements that I have in my chart. And, you know, I could go even further, but we'll learn more about that later on in future episodes. But

Everything just kind of comes together when you look at the bigger picture of things and ⁓ even from a family like looking at my family and my upbringing. There were little things here and there that my mom would talk about in terms of like astrology and people that we've met in ⁓ like the spiritual communities that have mentioned things about astrology.

typically pertaining to like zodiac signs, which was really cool. And all of that just ⁓ continue to pique my interest and grow this fascination that I have for astrology. But Heather, I'm going to turn it to you so that you can talk a little bit about yourself.

Heather (08:17)
I just first want to say that was super focused. I love that. Goal-oriented. I think that's really cool. Ha ha! yeah. Ha ha! Ha ha! Right? Yeah, that's what he does when he jumps and gets in the mushrooms.

Sophie (08:24)
I don't know why I laugh like that, like Mario.

⁓ that's funny.

Heather (08:40)
Oh, it's me, Mario. You know what I heard? It's like he's actually not saying it's me. What does he say? It's me or something like that. It's a Japanese. It's me. Japanese for something. me. Yeah, I do. I found that out this year. I love that. It was on a reel. Well, you know what? I might be quoting something completely fake.

Sophie (08:46)
say.

Heather (09:02)
I actually look it up, yeah, don't quote me. anyway, well, I guess you got a little bit of my quirkiness there. But anyway, I'm Heather. And ⁓ so I guess first, I'll start off what kind of got me into astrology, which is kind of a little bit of a hazy thing there. Because when we had

Originally has sat down to speak about it. Um, you know, I realized I didn't know that much about astrology than I thought but it's something I was always interested in and one of the things is for me I guess my first glimps I'll circle back to that but my first glimpse at astrology was really essentially your Sun sign, right? So like for me my mom

was very into getting me and my sister things that had to do with our sun sign. I'm from saying it here, going forward, we're gonna just do some fun stuff where we will ⁓ explain ourselves a little bit more with our charts and our placements and our different ⁓ astrological.

Yeah, astrological placements. I already said it. But anyway, so my mom would get like me and my sister all this fun stuff. And I identified a lot with my sun sign. That's kind of how I kind of went about life. And I would be very interested in learning what people signs was. Yeah, not knowing that you had all these other placements like your big six or anything like that. The birth chart, I knew a birth charts, so I wasn't really familiar with it until I actually got introduced to it more.

from Sophie. ⁓

Sophie (10:46)
Very common

as you mentioned, like a lot of people are only ⁓ aware of their sun signs.

Heather (10:54)
Yeah, absolutely. And that's actually one of the things when I started digging more into astrology as we were doing this podcast, I realized I didn't know as much as I thought and but was super fascinating about it was getting to learn my birth chart and the birth chart of other people around me. It's really ⁓ inspiring and a little bit like aw intriguing at the fact that there's so much

correlation with it. Absolutely. So it kind of sparked my interest even more. But one thing that I was always really good at was guessing people's sun signs, which was really cool. She's usually pretty spot on to you. And now, like introducing all of the other like elements to it, it's fun to kind of see like where, I can see how this is your like rising or this is, you know.

Sophie (11:34)
really good.

Heather (11:49)
So that was really like my introduction to astrology, but I was mostly into like different like but growing up was into the supernatural very much I was like really really loved learning about theology ⁓ I have I love history. So I've always been somebody that's exceptionally curious so doing doing this podcast has been a lot of fun because it's been a lot of knowledge seeking for me. Yeah. Yes, but

Sophie (12:18)
100%. And I one thing that or I think what motivated both of us, especially with myself, is that I hate gatekeeping. OK. I knowledge should not be gate kept. Everyone should be aware of things that can help them progress in life.

Heather (12:21)
I

You

Yeah, okay.

Absolutely,

I would say yes, definitely Sophie's a lot more vocal than me and she's taught me to be a little bit more vocal and I'm definitely like somebody like I'll be in the background like maybe knowing something or feel passionate about something and I'm just like Which is actually really funny because speaking of occupation I know like I

don't know how I got to where I was, where like Sophie, you knew that you like to help people and you went into your field with that intention. ⁓ Me, I'm just an executive assistant. Hey. But I did go to school for anthropology. I have a minor in ⁓ history, just one course away from being a double major in anthropology and history.

Sophie (13:20)
Huh?

Heather (13:34)
evolutionary studies and Asian studies. So I'm kind of all over the place. And for me, I kind of just fell into it I didn't really know what I wanted to do after college. And then I got elevated in my position now. But it does say a lot to my personality because I am a people person. So, you know, you can't be an executive assistant and not be a people person. I deal with like a lot of profile individuals. So ⁓ so that was really cool. But I think that

doing this has been a great outlet. And maybe I will find a different ⁓ occupation in the future. Maybe a professional podcaster.

Sophie (14:12)
Amazing you're manifesting that right just two days after the new moon. Yes

Heather (14:20)
Yes,

⁓ I love new moons. Yes, cuz little fun fact I was born on a new moon At night At night to not even there during the my little night owl self no, but but that's a little introduction of us ⁓ and as we go forward you'll learn a lot more about us and we're excited to Reveal a little bit more about our placements as we go forward and just our thoughts uncertain

Sophie (14:27)
in the end.

Heather (14:49)
⁓ perspective or I should say perspectives on certain things that we're going to do you. And with that, Sophie's actually going to speak a little bit about our first season episodes and our release dates.

Sophie (14:54)

Yes. So let's talk a little bit about those releases. So, know what to expect from from us, the stellar soul cast will drop new episodes every Saturday and Wednesday. OK. And we're keeping things fresh with a fun mix of solo deep dives, cozy co-host chats.

Heather (15:39)
Yeah, I'm so excited. so excited. I feel like my smile can be like right through the map, like through the map, through the mic. And you do, Sophie. I feel like we're both like, if anybody could see us right now, like we're like, eee, we can't get the smile off our faces.
